Warranty
We do not offer a warranty
on batteries as they are consumable items.
We do, however, test the
laptops to the extent that we can provide a reasonable assumption into
the state of the battery, so that you can have a better idea as to
whether the laptop you are expressing interest in will suit your needs.
Each laptop listing
will include a mention of the state of the battery. We test the
batteries on our laptops by fully charging the laptop, unplugging it, then
timing the length of operating time whilst running office applications
and active screensaver with all power saving options disabled. The
result will be
categorized as follows, please use this as a guide only;
|
|
Not present |
Battery not
included - the laptop will work fine and take power from the mains with
included power supply |
|
|
|
|
Mains |
Battery
will not hold a charge so must be connected to the mains power when in
use (replacement batteries are usually readily available) |

B-Grade /
Working |
Battery has been tested to
charge but no indication of time can be given. Due to time constraints
we are increasingly advertising batteries as being 'working'. We plug
the laptop in and run it for 10 minutes, then unplug the mains cable to
check the laptop stays on and the battery works. Battery may last
anything from 5 minutes to 2 hours, sorry no guarantees can be offered. |

|
A2-Grade / Good |
Good
Working Battery - run times
can be expected to upwards of half an hour from a full charge |
|
 |
 |
|
A-Grade /
Excellent |
Expected
run times of at least 45 minutes under partial load (general use).
During
our testing we will typically have achieved run times of around one hour or more (excellent bearing in mind
the age of the laptop), though run times may vary depending on use |
|
|
|
|
NEW |
Laptop
will have a brand new original or replacement battery to provide
performance away from the mains similar to when the laptop was brand new
- the laptop can be expected to run for a minimum of 1hr (likely to be
more) away from the mains under average use, plus will hold a charge
over time - e.g. can be powered up 1 week later after being charged and
will still power on. |
 |
 |
|
Please
use this only as a guide - Run time will vary dramatically with the
intensity of usage. Applications which consume more power will clearly
reduce run times and visa versa if the laptop is idle for a period of
time. We do not test batteries over time (i.e. several hours or days after a full
charge) and cannot offer any idea as to how well the batteries will last
over time.
Please note that battery life may deteriorate over time.
If a battery's functionality varies
significantly from the advertisement, i.e a battery is failed or very poor when
stated as 'Good' or 'Excellent' then please contact us and we will try
to offer
a suitable solution. |
